Salvation Army observes National Donut Day with local first responders

The Salvation Army National Donut Day was observed on Friday, June 5 as representatives from Salvation Army Leamington brought fresh Colasanti donuts to the Leamington Fire Station, Leamington OPP Detachment and the Leamington EMS Station.

Major Kathryn Ritson was on hand along with Community Program Coordinator Derik Hyatt to thank those first responders for the care and service and offer fresh baked donuts as the Salvation Army did back in the First World War with soldiers on the front lines. In the photo on the left, Salvation Army representatives meet with Leamington Firefighters, and on the right, local OPP officers take a bite out of crime and donuts in front of the detachment. Hyatt also informed the recipients that Colasanti’s donated the donuts for their event.
