Baseball fans will get their triple taste of Senior baseball action in Leamington this summer as three teams have entered the Essex County Senior Baseball League for the 2026 season.
The Leamington Senior Barons will be managed by Chris Lamotte, while the Leamington Junior Barons will be under the guidance of Derick Mastromatteo. The third team – the Leamington Senior Red Sox – will have Troy Thiessen at the helm.
In all, 50 players will suit up under the Leamington banner this summer, making for a strong representation in the 12-team Essex County league.
With no Junior league, available, the Junior Barons will be facing off against their senior opponents across the league, hoping their youthful exuberance can overcome the wily veterans.
All three teams have already begun their regular seasons, so expect diamond 7 in Leamington to be busy most nights of the week.
