Classic car show brings out large crowd for a good cause

Four hundred classic vehicles of every make and colour were on display for all to see at the Yesterday & Today Car Show on the grounds of Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens in Ruthven.

Organized by the members of Shiny Toyz, the one day-show also featured a vendors’ market, a wide variety of offerings from the many food trucks, live music, a large table of raffle items and a 50/50 draw, all in support of the Brain Injury Association of Windsor & Essex County.

Norm Lalonde and Denis Guilbeault of Shiny Toyz  spent many months planning for the show, and with the support of many sponsors were expecting to present a cheque for over $10,000 to the local Brain Injury Association that will assist with their many therapy programs and initiatives.

Gary Girardin brought out his 2005 Corvette to this show for the first time. Gary picked up the car in Florida and was wowed by the unique airbrushed images found on and under the car’s exterior. Paul Forman photos
Bill Simpson and his son James are often found at local car shows with their beauty, a 1969 Camaro. Pictured is Bill beside his car that houses a modified 383 V8 that kicks out an impressive 520 horsepower. Paul Forman photos.
