Blazers win in South Oxford

The Talbot Trail Blazers U11B team had an impressive showing this past weekend, capturing the championship title at the Sean Mudge Memorial Tournament, held October 16-18 in South Oxford.

The Blazers battled their way through a competitive weekend, finishing with five wins and just one loss.

The team opened the tournament on Friday with a commanding 8-1 victory over Tri Centre Jr. Attack, followed by a 5-3 win against St. Mary’s Rock.

On Saturday, the Blazers suffered their only setback of the tournament, falling 3-1 to the Ausable Valley Coyotes, but quickly bounced back with a convincing 6-1 victory over Tri Centre Jr. Attack.

The Blazers carried that momentum into Sunday, defeating South Oxford Storm 3-2 before facing the Ausable Valley Coyotes once again in the championship game. In a thrilling finish, Ryan Cincurak scored the overtime game-winning goal to secure a 3-2 victory for the Blazers, making the championship win even more special as he celebrated his 10th birthday that same day.
