In what many regard as Cottam’s premiere event, the annual Rotary Fall Fair did not disappoint with hundreds of families making their way around Ridgeview Park for an incredible day of activities this past Sunday, September 13.
This marked the 62nd year for the fair, and included a large number of free events and activities for the youngsters, in large part because of the generosity and hard work of the Cottam Rotary Club members.
“We always want our community to come together,” said Jessica Ireland, President of the Cottam Rotarians. “This is such a great event for us to organize, puts Cottam on the map, and lets everybody know about all the fantastic things happening here.”
The fairgrounds were like a candy store for kids with all of the inflatables, pony rides, petting zoo and pancake breakfast, while a parade through the downtown area was featured in the early afternoon.
Always striving to be bigger and better, the local Rotarians brought in a few new fair offerings.
“We were excited to bring in some bunny racing this year,” said President Ireland. “We have a new dunk tank this year that assists some outside organizations and some new food vendors on site.”
Ireland was grateful to the Town of Kingsville, local Scouts, the Knights of Columbus and her fellow Rotarians, as well as many volunteers from local high schools.
“The success of the fall fair could not take place without the help of many hands,” she said.
