This year’s Kingsville Vintage Garden Tour was an immersion for the senses, from beautiful sights full of tranquil greenery and colourful foliage to the sweet sounds of live music played by a harp and violins, and to the smells of floral scents and for the tastebuds, pastries at High Tea.
“We are honoured to have Chef John Yilmaz create our High Tea featuring delectable savouries, scones and sweets, plus a selection of teas,” said Annette Cooper of the Horticultural Society on Sunday morning at the tour.
She said the tour featured nine private gardens, two businesses and three town gardens over two days, July 11 and 12.
Volunteers were dressed in period costumes to create an immersive experience that combines horticulture with history, she added.
The vintage High Tea was served at Kingsville Legion’s Banquet Hall surrounded by an indoor garden and KHS Member Flower Show. An added feature this year included the War Memorial Museum.
Cooper said plans are already underway for next year’s tour.
